First of all, you are a student of Information Technology. Shouldn’t you be telling us? I’m machinist and a self-taught home user. Isn’t there something the wrong way around?
Secondly, how is it possible, that a student of Information technology doesn’t know, what relevant specifications are? If I tell you, that my phone is 7 years old, what specs does that give you about my phone, to make conclusions regarding software? How does that help you at all?
Next, there is no one-fits-all answer. Because believe it or not, an operating system is not a toy. It’s a means to an end. It’s all about purpose and taste? So, what’s your purpose and taste?
Do you want it to be easy to use and should it do the job for you? That’s Windows. Do you want to play a lot of games? That’s Windows. Do you want to learn more about computers and operating systems? That’s Linux. Do you want an operating system that gives you a lot of control and the option to adjust it to your own working style? That’s Linux.
So, what’s your purpose and taste? That’s the basic answer! There is no one-fits-all answer, because devices and people are different.
Tell me who you are and I tell you what you are going to want. Until then, I can’t give you the answer you want. Because you didn’t provide sufficient data.
